How does Eve Cam detect motion and trigger recordings?
Eve Cam features a dedicated infrared motion sensor to trigger motion alerts, automations and recordings. If you have configured people / pet / vehicle recognition, any motion detected by the infrared motion sensor will cause the video footage to be sent to your Apple TV or HomePod to intelligently determine whether your recording criteria is met. Please note that while the infrared motion sensor can “see” in the dark and even when you have turned the video stream off, it can’t see through glass. So if there’s a glass door to your front porch or there’s a window looking out to your patio or yard, Eve Cam won’t detect any motion behind it and thus also not trigger notifications, automations or recordings.
Protect your home from intruders and keep an eye on your kids, pets and property. Monitor activity at your home and get notifications on your iPhone when motion is detected

Deactivate your camera when somebody is home and continue using motion detection to protect your home
Requires a home hub (HomePod, HomePod mini or Apple TV) and a 200 GB Apple iCloud storage plan (not included). The DHCP function must be activated on the router.
